White Limba (Terminalia superba), also known as Korina or Afara, is a straight to slightly interlocking grain. Heartwood is light yellowish to golden brown with no black veins. Sapwood is pale gray to yellowish-brown and is not clearly demarcated from the heartwood. Color of wood tends to darken with age. Limba is easy to machine and turn, glues, sands and takes finish well. White Limba is also known for its stability, which means it is less likely to warp or twist over time. An excellent choice for a variety of woodworking projects, from furniture and cabinetry to musical instruments and decorative items.
