Vent Bench

The Vent Bench is set on a slender, painted steel frame. The seat of the minimalist, two-seater Vent Bench is woven by hand from paper cord. Comfortable to sit on and beautiful to look at, it elevates surroundings whether in a public setting or home space. The Vent Series is named after the Danish word for wait—a nod to its origins as seating conceived for leisurely viewing artworks at museums. Handmade in collaboration with a local workshop for the blind and sight impaired, the designs marry form with function.

The Vent Series was designed by the Danish/Swedish furniture designer Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm. With a Swedish mother and Danish father, her Nordic roots shine through in her minimalistic approach and use of natural materials like wood, leather and wool. The winner of multiple design awards, for Halstrøm, function is the starting point and dictates the idiom of her beautiful designs.
