The Azoth Principle. is the 6th novel in print by author, musician, and spiritualist Ash Jetson. it is yet another reflection on religion, spirituality, and the human condition, and this time focuses on the Christian idea of Purgatory, as well as the Buddhist idea of reincarnation. Starting with a Buddhist belief, we're instantly plunged into the story after the main character's death, when he suddenly awakes on an island to a man in a robe standing over him. He is told that this place between life and death is called the Phobos Rim, and that he'll be spending the next 7 weeks on the island. Realizing he has lost his memory, the guide tells him his new name and the other parts of his memory he has lost, as well as how to regain them. His name while on the island is Nochrael, and he is to remember his life and what he did wrong to be sent to Purgatory, as well as the name of God, to be judged worthy of Heaven, and not the Hell he has been sent for. Early on during his time in Phobos, Nochrael learns of a legend about a well at the end of the island. it is said that the well is not like any other well, for it didn't hold water in the bottom. instead, it held the matter from before God created the Universe, the chaos and darkness that was before the beginning, it held Azoth. Legend told that if you were to find it and jump in, it was an escape from the island, a way out of Purgatory, a path beyond God's judgement. Nochrael sets out to locate The Well at the End of the Earth, and what he finds when he finally reaches it is not what he expected. it is so much more. Read more
