SCHOOL BUS EXTRICATION Thank you for your interest in preparing for school bus emergencies. Years back, I was asked to teach an extrication class on school buses, as a firefighter and instructor I was unfamiliar with the challenges surrounding that particular rescue. When researching, training, and teaching school bus extrication, I have found many emergency responders haven’t been exposed to this technical rescue topic and school districts don’t plan for the worst.There are countless variables to the “never happen to us” school bus emergency and it is challenging to predict and plan for them all. This material is a compilation of years of research, training, trial & error, and persistent communication with great rescuers.
