This Cast Iron Bacon Press holds bacon flat to cook faster with more crispy surfaces. This helpful cooking tool weights bacon down against the pan, prevents it from curling and shrinking, and reduces its messy spatter. The generous 7.75-inch cast iron cooking surface distributes heat evenly. Bacon strips cook evenly with more crispy goodness. No more fatty bacon! The press fits 8-inch frying pans perfectly and cooks more bacon at a time. Flat, crispy bacon strips are tastier and easier to stack when making crunchy BLTs. To season the press before first use, wash, rinse, and dry it thoroughly. Apply a light coat of vegetable oil to a frying pan and the Bacon Press. Set the press into the pan and heat them together over a very low flame for 20 minutes. Wipe away any excess oil. The press is ready for use. To cook bacon and other foods, apply a light coat of vegetable oil to the press. Preheat the frying pan over medium heat then add bacon strips side-by-side. Place the press on top and cook bacon as desired. For faster cooking times, preheat the press in the frying pan then add the bacon strips. Easily crisp bacon and sausage, press paninis, sear steaks and burgers, prevent pork chops from curling, press out whey when making cheese, yogurt, and more. Made from cast iron with a stay-cool wood handle, HIC's Bacon Press is suitable for use with both uncoated and non-stick cookware, using extra care to not scratch delicate surfaces. Hand wash, dry thoroughly, and apply a light coat of vegetable oil before storing. If signs of rust appear, simply scrub off the rust and repeat the seasoning steps.
