Racoon Butterflyfish are best suited for intermediate aquarists with established reef or fish-only tanks of at least 75 gallons. These striking fish require stable water conditions and experienced handling due to their specialized dietary needs. Care Level: Intermediate — requires consistent water quality and feeding discipline. Tank Size: Minimum 75 gallons; larger tanks reduce territorial stress and allow natural swimming patterns. Compatibility: Generally peaceful but may nip at soft corals and small invertebrates. House with caution around delicate reef inhabitants. Compatible with larger, assertive fish species. Diet: Primarily carnivorous. Feed a varied diet of high-quality marine flakes, frozen mysis shrimp, and small crustaceans.
