Thanks to controlled rope slipping, KISA (Kong Impact Shock Absorber) is suitable to create shock absorbing systems. It can be used in two configurations, via two set of holes suitable for different diameters of rope (around 9mm or 11mm), allowing various degrees of friction.
Because it is not possible to test all configurations and uses, this device is not a PPE and it has not been tested according to EN958.
Each individual should decide for themselves the scope of application they want to use the Kisa for while bearing in mind that it is not a PPE device, nor has EN 17520 Personal belay lanyards; EN958 "energy absorbing systems (EAS) for use in climbing on a Via Ferrata"; EN 354 (lanyard for fall arrest); or EN 358 (work positioning).
