Believing in the value of an extendable sling, we perfected it with Magic Cord. This innovation replaces the previous Dyneema sewn sling with a seamless, zero-resistance extendable cord. Unlike traditional sewn slings with rigid bartacks that can snag and interrupt movement, Magic Cord extends smoothly and without resistance, making it easier and faster to place gear while reducing rope drag. In this new release, we’ve also improved the trigger and thumb loop grip areas, expanding contact surfaces. A new pin-hole design reduces lobe buckling and prevents dirt buildup, ensuring smoother, more consistent action over time. The range now includes size 0.3, while size 4 introduces a spring-loaded lobe retention system with a central spring that can be easily activated or deactivated. Last but not least, Friends now have a 10-year lifespan from first use, plus an additional 4 years if stored properly.

• Milled and polished cam lobes: Softer, untreated aluminum offers 8-10% more grip than anodized surfaces, with an added machined groove to enhance friction on rock. 
• Enhanced trigger smoothness & compatibility with Pro Key Light: A new pin-hole design reduces lobe buckling and prevents dirt buildup, ensuring smoother, more consistent action over time. The new Pro Key Light with leash is compatible for extraction of stuck units.
• Thumbloop geometry & Extendable Magic Cord: The signature feature of Wild Country Friends - combining the ease of a thumb loop with the benefits of an extendable sling up to 20cm. This design reduces the need for extra draws, minimizes rope drag, and lessens walking.
• Magic Cord Technology: Featuring seamless core-mantle construction, this design eliminates rigid bartack areas for smooth, snag-free extension. An UHMWPE core provides mechanical strength, while the outer sheath of nylon and UHMWPE offers abrasion, cut, and UV resistance. This UV protection shields the core, extending its lifespan. A wear indicator signals when it’s time for sling replacement.
