Supercapacitors use electromechanical properties instead of chemical reactions of battery operated systems, resulting in improved reliability in cold climates and rapid deployment energy release. The E2 is 40% smaller and 25% lighter than the E1, with a 162-liter airbag that deploys rapidly to decrease your burial depth and protect your head and neck in the event of an avalanche.

The Float E2-45 also has Side Stash and Back Stash pockets for quick access to hydration, extra layers, and skins. It sports a waterproof-coated nylon, an expandable roll top, curved side access zip, quick cinch closure, removable straps, hip belt pocket, "cooling fin" backpanel, and special safety tools/snowsaw pocket.
