Anubias Wrinkle Leaf

Anubias barteri ‘Wrinkle Leaf’ — or simply Anubias Wrinkle Leaf — is a larger variety that is less common compared to other species used in planted aquariums. Like other Anubias, it can thrive in a wide range of environments, from aquariums to terrariums and most planted setups, as long as humidity is adequate. Anubias Wrinkle Leaf is known for its larger, rounded, oblong leaves with a deep green color that many planted tank hobbyists appreciate.

The leaves have a unique bumpy texture from the veins and slightly ruffled edges, setting it apart from other Anubias. This plant works well as a midground or background choice, as its leaves can grow quite long. It is a flowering plant that grows best when its rhizome is attached to a hard surface, such as wood or stone. While it benefits from regular fertilization, it requires only minimal light, since its leaves are prone to algae growth under high lighting. CO2 is optional but will facilitate faster growth and more robust foliage. Propagation is simple: cut or separate the rhizome and reattach the pieces elsewhere.
