This is a set of eight 40/4 chairs, originally designed by David Rowland in 1964. These particular examples were manufactured by Howe in the USA in 2024. This iconic chair has been praised as one of the most ingenious modern designs of the 20th century, and has been credited for being the first truly stackable chair. Each chair has a solid steel sled base, and a walnut plywood seat. The listed price includes all eight chairs to be sold as a set.

Each chair measures 21 inches in length, 19 inches in width, and 30 inches tall. The seat height is 18 inches. These chairs were made in 2024 and only used for three days as dining chairs for ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) in New York City. They are in very good to excellent condition. Please see photos.
