In the wake of our recent release of our Employees’ Choice Awards, honoring the Best Places to Work in 2017, we thought we’d shed some light on what it’s like to work at Glassdoor. While you won’t find Glassdoor’s name on our annual list (we’re not that vain!), we like to think we have a lot to be proud of when it comes to our workplace.
Headquartered in Mill Valley, California, Glassdoor is made up of over 600 talented team members across offices in San Francisco, Chicago, London, Dublin, and Ohio. And with an overall rating of 4.1, we’re comfortably above the average of 3.4.

So, what’s so cool about Glassdoor? As the world’s most transparent jobs and recruiting marketplace, we know a thing or two about what makes an employee excited to come to work every day — and that directly shapes our company culture.
The perks
In addition to a solid foundation of core benefits like great health insurance, commuter benefits, and a 401k, Glassdoor employees also score snacks, unlimited PTO, and even the ability to kayak during your lunch break at our Mill Valley office.
“Glassdoor is constantly trying to ensure employees are well taken care of outside of work. From lunches, to vacation, to on-site gym to team outings. It’s really a mindset that life is more than just 9-5,” says one Product Manager in the Mill Valley office.

The people
You’ll be hard pressed to find a review on Glassdoor that doesn’t mention the amazing team members we get to work with every day. We’re a staff of hardworking, high energy, and intelligent people (if we do say so ourselves!) who genuinely care about each other and our company’s mission.
“Glassdoor employees work hard and get stuff done,” shares an anonymous Mill Valley employee. “Coming to the office picks me up and keeps me going.”
“The entire Glassdoor team is passionate, kind, humble, and smart. People generally remain optimistic and ‘find a way’ in the face of any challenge,” according to a VP of Marketing.
And this high caliber of employees is driven all the way from the top — our fearless leader, CEO Robert Hohman, has a 92% approval rating!
“We are led by an amazing CEO and a top-notch leadership team full of real people who roll up their sleeves, work hard, and really care,” adds the same VP of Marketing.
