The U.S. Has 156,000 New Open Jobs — Apply Now!

Been waiting for the right time to make a career move? Now’s your chance. According to the latest jobs report numbers, 156,000 new jobs were added in the month of December, marking the 75th month in a row that job gains have been net positive. A new job might just pay you more than ever, too — according to the Glassdoor Local Pay Reports, the median U.S. wage has grown 2.7 percent since last December to $51,750.

And these gains aren’t just for the very top of the ladder, either. Hourly workers’ salaries are growing faster than they have in seven years (up 2.9 percent since last December), and there are now 17,000 new jobs for folks in the manufacturing industry to apply to. After several months straight of manufacturing job losses, that’s a welcome change.

Of course, the economy fluctuates constantly. After 75 straight months of growth, it’s not a question of if the labor market’s hot streak will end, but when. For now, though, U.S. workers should take advantage of the new job posts and higher wages while they can — particularly those in the following fields:
