Genesis10 is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for a 12 month contract position with a client in Richfield, MN.

Summary:
The client’s Dotcom Foundational Engineering Team provides REST– based services consumed by other dotcom applications, and core engineering support to dotcom applications. Position will provide Technical Business Analysis for back-end web services. This person will act as a flexible resource, interacting with both the development team as well as different teams across multiple products and projects. A primary duty of this role is communicating behavior outwards rather than intake of new functionality, but the latter is also part of the role. Ideally, would like someone that has been a Developer in the past. A normal day would include: Understanding and documenting current web services, clients, suppliers and interaction patterns; Disseminating system behavior to teams, both internal and external.

Working with development team on new features; Attending daily standups; Writing testing scenarios as input to QA team.

Responsibilities:

• Able to quickly learn and understand, to a deep level of detail:
  + The behavior of the RESTful web services the team produces, the public APIs, and the proper interaction patterns for those API’s
  + The clients (systems) who integrate with these services (REST APIs) and the proper interaction patterns
  + The suppliers (systems) who integrate with these services (APIs, queues, files) and the proper interaction patterns
• Serves as the primary point of contact to communicate service behavior and interactions
• Filters questions and external feedback back to development team
• Communicates both verbally and in writing
• Working with the team architect, intakes new behaviors (features) and helps communicate them to development team
• Teaches new team members system behavior during on-boarding
• Provides traceability of feature requests back to business owners
• Develops test scenarios as input to QA and ensures proper test coverage
• Assists in the creation and execution of system and user acceptance test plans
• When necessary, assists in writing test cases/data and executing tests

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in Business Analysis experience
• Recent experience with web services, including message formats (JSON/XML) and documenting interaction patterns
• Familiar with HTTP protocol and response codes
• Attention to detail with excellent written skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to change
• Has worked in an environment that has short release cycles
• Experience working with Developer type tools (will need to understand code will not actually complete the code)
• Extremely good collaboration skills with developers
• Very good interpersonal communication style to work with internal and external teams with different methodologies and processes
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, Agile team with many moving parts and changes
• Enjoys sifting through details for accuracy and completeness
• Encouraging teams to reverse engineer their systems as a means to understand requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of Jira and Confluence tools
• Can approach complex problem-solving and troubleshooting tasks with creativity
• Not afraid to ask questions and challenge
• Experience working in an Agile methodology
• Previous retail/dotcom experience
